Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

• Account details, from whichever sign-in method you choose: your name and email (Google), your email address (email link), or your phone number (SMS/WhatsApp OTP).
• Birth chart details you submit to generate a chart — name, gender, date and time of birth, and birth place — saved so you (and, for order fulfillment, we) can refer back to them later rather than losing them the moment you close the tab.
• Shipping details — name, phone, and postal address — only if you order a printed hard copy.
• Activity records — sign-ins, chart views, and downloads — timestamped against your account.

2. How We Use It

We use your data only to:

• generate and display your birth chart, predictions, and related output;
• sign you in and keep your account working across visits;
• send you a sign-in link by email, or an OTP by SMS/WhatsApp, when you request one;
• fulfil a hard-copy order — print and mail it to the address you provide;
• keep a record of your chart requests for your own future reference; and
• maintain basic activity logs for support, abuse-prevention, and service improvement.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who We Share It With

We rely on a small number of service providers to run VedicAstroPro. Each processes only what it needs to do its job:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication and our database (your account, chart requests, orders, activity logs are all stored here).
• Resend — delivers the sign-in link email you request.
• Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform — delivers an OTP code if you choose to sign in via WhatsApp.
• Vercel — hosts the application itself.
• Razorpay — processes online payments if you choose to pay instead of using a coupon. Your card, UPI, or bank details go directly to Razorpay; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, never your payment details themselves.

We do not otherwise share your personal data with third parties, except where required by law.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember small preferences (like whether the ambient chant is on). We use Vercel Analytics for basic, cookie-free pageview counts — it does not track you individually or across other sites.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account and chart-request data for as long as your account is active, so it remains available to you (and, for hard-copy orders, to us for fulfilment) as a historical record. If you want your data deleted, contact us using the details below and we will action it, subject to any record-keeping we're legally required to retain (e.g. completed order records).

6. Your Rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to tell you what we hold about you, at any time — write to us using the contact details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Security

Your data is stored in Google Cloud/Firebase with access rules that restrict every record to your own account only — no other signed-in user can read your chart requests, orders, or activity log. All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

8. International Transfer

Our service providers may process and store data on servers located outside India. By using VedicAstroPro, you consent to this transfer.

9. Children

VedicAstroPro is intended for users aged 18 and over. A parent or guardian may submit a minor's birth details to generate a chart on the minor's behalf, but accounts themselves are not intended for use by children.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of VedicAstroPro after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
